The Directional Pad (D-Pad) in Enter the Gungeon is used to move the player character in different directions. It is the primary way to navigate through the game's various rooms and environments.

To move in a specific direction, simply press the corresponding direction on the D-Pad. For example, pressing up on the D-Pad will move the player character upwards, while pressing down will move them downwards. Similarly, pressing left will move the character to the left, while pressing right will move them to the right.

The D-Pad can also be used to aim the player's weapon in specific directions. Pressing up on the D-Pad while holding a weapon will aim the weapon upwards, while pressing down will aim it downwards. Pressing left or right will aim the weapon in those respective directions.

In addition to movement and aiming, the D-Pad can also be used to perform various actions, such as rolling or dodging.
