A rotating disk can be shaped to convert circular motion into linear motion through the use of an offset cam. An offset cam is a device that uses a rotating disk with an off-center circular profile to push a follower or lever in a linear direction. The cam rotates and as it does so, the follower or lever moves in a linear motion.

The cam follower can be attached to a rod or other linear actuator to produce linear motion. The follower can also be attached to a slider or other linear motion device to produce linear motion.

Another way to convert circular motion into linear motion is to use a crankshaft mechanism. A crankshaft converts circular motion into reciprocating motion by using a crank arm and connecting rod. The crank arm rotates around a central pivot point, and as it does so, the connecting rod moves back and forth in a linear motion.

There are also other mechanisms that can be used to convert circular motion into linear motion, such as gears and pulleys, but these are not disk-shaped.
